About Us

Medovik is a timeless honey cake that traces back to the 1820s in imperial Russia. It was first created by a young court chef for a Russian empress who famously disliked honey, until one delicate layered cake completely changed her mind.

As the years passed, the recipe travelled across borders and generations, evolving while keeping its heart and tradition alive.

Our family version is inspired by Middle Eastern baking techniques, where each honey layer is rolled exceptionally thin and baked with great care. As the cake rests, the layers slowly soften into the cream, creating Medovik’s signature tender texture and rich caramel honey flavour.
